In Germany, a person was mistakenly given five doses of coronavirus vaccine instead of one.
The incident took place at the vaccination center in Schwerin, the capital of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. According to the news in the newspaper Schwerins Volkszeitung, a person at the center was given a vaccine containing 5 times more doses than usual.
The person in question was taken to the hospital after the mistake was noticed. Authorities announced that the person was in good health and was kept in the hospital for observation.
The director of the vaccination campaign in Schwerin told the newspaper that the incident was “regrettable”, saying that the error was caused by mixing diluted vaccine bottles with diluted vaccine bottles before use.
There are 5 doses of vaccine in the bottles where the vaccine, developed in partnership with BioNTech / Pfizer and protected under special storage conditions, is kept. While vaccination is being made, each dose of vaccine is diluted and watched.
