ASELSAN, the leading company of the Turkish defense industry, will equip the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) with its capabilities and the technologies it has developed.
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), which is the main contractor in the MMU Development Project, continues its studies for the development of aircraft that are intended to be included in the Turkish Air Force inventory in the 2030s.
TAI will also benefit from the ecosystem in Turkey at the highest level in order to develop the systems and subsystems needed in the production process of the aircraft. ASELSAN solutions have an important place in systems to be procured from Turkey.
ASELSAN will develop national radar, electronic warfare and electro-optical systems for aircraft. With the work to be carried out, it is aimed to develop the critical mission systems required for MMU nationally and to integrate them into the aircraft in a way that will gain full operational capability at appropriate stages in the progress of the project.
The National Combat Aircraft Integrated Communication Navigation Recognition-Promotion Project was initiated between ASELSAN and TAI at the end of last year for the air communication system needs of the aircraft. In this context, it is aimed to deliver the works up to the MMU Preliminary Design Review Phase. In addition, work on the contract data request list documents has started.
ASELSAN continues the engineering studies of MMU’s Integrated Electro-optic System Technology Development Project. In addition, development activities for both MWIR and LWIR (Long Wavelength Infrared) MCT detectors are ongoing.
Within the scope of electronic warfare systems, both critical technology development and product requirements definition activities continue with the MMU Integrated RF System Development Project.
NATIONAL AMMUNITIONS WILL BE INTEGRATED INTO MMU
ASELSAN’s work continues for the integration of national ammunition into MMU. Within the scope of the contract signed with TAI, it is aimed to integrate the Miniature Bomb, Intelligent Multi-Relief and Laser Guided Bomb to MMU.
Contract negotiations are also held between ASELSAN and TAI for Flight Control System Sensors and Helmet Integrated Indicator. With the signing of the contract in 2021, work on this issue is planned to begin.
With the MMU Project, Turkey is among the countries that have the infrastructure and technology to produce a 5th generation combat aircraft as a result of the studies in the fields of technology such as low visibility, built-in weapon bay, high maneuverability, increased situational awareness and sensor fusion. will replace.
